Dirk Späth was born on a Saturday in the summer of 1978 on the 38th parallel in Germany and in the first 36 years of his life he has never written a text in the third person about himself.

Thanks to a mother who taught him how important languages and their mastery are, he started learning English privately at the age of 8.
After a stundent exchange in the USA (Perkasie, PA) English became his second language.

After school he became a nurse and worked for 11 years at the University Hospital in Freiburg, Germany.

He decided to quit his job because he wanted to work and live location independent.
He started working as an English to German Translator in March 2013. Later that year he left Germany to become a PADI Scuba Instructor, which he accomplished in January 2014.

He’s now a MSDT (#338534) and PADI Elite Instructor.
His professional diving education has been in German (Divemaster) and English (IDC).
He’s actively teaching in both English in German which makes him an expert not only in diving (and related) terminology in both languages, but he also knows “how divers actually talk” providing a translation that sounds like a native text.
